New electroless Ni-B/B and Ni-B/MoS2 composite coatings with improved mechanical properties
Welcome to the website dedicated to the research project carried out by the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Warsaw Institute of Technology (formerly Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Precision Mechanics) in the Electroplating Technology Centre.
The project is implemented through Norway Grants. Norway contributes to reducing social and economic disparities and to strengthening bilateral relations with beneficiary countries in Central and Southern Europe and the Baltics.

About
The aim of the project is to develop a technology for the production of composite coatings with a Ni-B alloy matrix with B or MoS2 dispersion phase particles.

Project relevance
Implementation of the project will allow both the development of new materials, as well as increase the state of the art in the field of composite coatings. In addition, the work will concern the adaptation of the manufacturing process of Ni-B/B and Ni-B/MoS2 composite coatings to a larger scale on a pilot electroplating line, which will allow for future application of these solutions in industrial conditions.

Tasks
In order to implement the project, the work has been divided into four main stages. The first two focus on the development of laboratory scale technology, which will be implemented on a semi-technical scale later on.
