Project Relevance

Implementation of the project will allow both the development of new materials, as well as increase the state of the art in the field of composite coatings. In addition, the work will concern the adaptation of the manufacturing process of Ni-B/B and Ni-B/MoS2 composite coatings to a larger scale on a pilot electroplating line, which will allow for future application of these solutions in industrial conditions. Thanks to their properties, the studied composite coatings may find application in the aerospace industry, aerospace, automotive and electronics industries.

These coatings can be a substitute for chromium coatings, for the production of which toxic chromium(VI) compounds are used. The European Union has placed restrictions on the use of Cr(VI)-based compounds due to their strong carcinogenic effects.

The results of the project will be used to advance the scientific development of the research team, as well as to develop technologies for industrial application of the process and composite alloy coatings.
